I’m Lyss, a thirty-something single gal who stopped settling for ordinary and started chasing extraordinary! I gave up the daily grind for a wide open world of adventure and I want to take you with me!
COVID rocked my carefully ordered world, and I decided to reboot and rebuild my life on the road. I hit pause on my longterm plans, ditched my stuff, jumped out of my rut, and started crossing things off my wishlist instead of my to-do list.
Spoiled Spinster started as a celebration of all the things I could do without a white picket fence holding me in. Embracing the things I CAN have instead of feeling bad about the things I DONT, and never wanted. No husband, kids, permanent address, or corporate job means I can do whatever the heck I want. It’s pretty awesome and I want to share my experiences with people feeling a little stuck or frustrated by the expectations we put on ourselves. I never thought I could be brave enough to walk away from the life I’d spent 20 years building to try something totally different, but I did, and it was totally worth it.
I’ll be capturing the crazy and sharing stories of my shenanigans on my blog and vlog. I’m a wandering woman, going where I please, and I like to share the treasures I discover on my travel page. I’m reconnecting with my roots while spreading my wings, so the recipe page follows the family tradition of sharing love with food.
Curated Confections is a shop of sweet and sassy little somethings I find on the road. The High Hat Collection are customizable fedora and felt hat accessories made from my funky found treasures.
This is the hub for this half-baked soul sabbatical. Like my new life, I’m figuring it out as I go along.
I might be a spoiled spinster embarking upon a solo adventure, but I’m a part of an amazing community. Taking you with me makes it all worthwhile.
